Sample setups / needed hardware
The first question is often: what kind of hardware do we need to run DZ-Manager?
The short answer is: one 6 year old PC with 1,5 GHz, 512 MB RAM and Windows XP is fine for a single manifesting workstation. Mac OS and Linux are not yet supported, but will follow within a year.
However because DZ-Manager can be used in small as well as big setups there is also a long answer. To give you an idea, we show a couple of sample setups including licensing costs:
Overview
If you are unsure we recommend what we call the decent setup (b) because of the separate load-viewer: a load-viewer relieves the manifest of most of the time needed to handle jumpers:
- fun-jumpers can plan for themselves before coming to manifest - no more "where is enough space for us" questions
- jumpers and tandem passengers can monitor their loads / times - no more "on which load am I and when is it going" questions
Also you can always step up by getting more licenses
- start with Minimal (a) for USD 0.- for the first season
- upgrade to Decent (b) for USD 3,420.- onetime or USD 63.- monthly for the next season
- upgrade to Medium (c) for USD 1,140.12 onetime or USD 16.84 monthly for the next season
As you see, you pay the same amount, no matter if you purchase licenses at once or step by step (except for a quantity discounts5)).
a) Minimal
Target consumer: drop zones of all sizes which do not need a separate load-viewer or want to give DZ-Manager a try without spending money, e.g. those who have previously worked with pen&paper or some other software on only one PC.
What can it do:
- manage an endless number of skydivers, planes and jumps.
- manage in-app jump appointments, e.g. Tandems
- generate reports about all data (jumps, funds, planes, skydivers, custom sql queries)
- use all modes / interfaces – admin manifest, self-manifesting, load-viewer – BUT ONLY one at the same time, e.g. you can’t show the load-viewer WHILE you are manifesting, only one or the other
Mandatory Hardware:
- One PC, no older than 6 years, 1,5 GHz, 512 MB RAM, running Windows XP SP3 or higher
Optional Hardware:
- Printer to print Waivers, Jump certificates, balance sheets, jump lists etc.
- RFID-Chipcard-Reader to speed up identification and manifesting of skydivers

b) Decent - recommend for new customers
Target consumer: drop zones who want a separate load-viewer on a big screen, e.g. those who have previously worked with a competing product or just want to modernize their manifest.
What can it do:
- Everything the minimal solution (a) can do plus:
- Use any mode / interfaces on one screen and a load-viewer on a second screen, e.g. you can show the load-viewer on one screen while your staff is working on another screen
- Use the DZ-Manager Online-Tools to allow web-based
o jump appointments, e.g. Tandems
o load-viewer
o skydiver account management
with any web-browser
Mandatory Hardware:
- One PC, no older than 2 years, 2,5 GHz, 4 GB RAM, running Windows 7 or higher
- Two monitors connected, one being a big TV-Screen
Optional Hardware:
- Printer to print Waivers, Jump certificates, balance sheets, jump lists etc.
- RFID-Chipcard-Reader to speed up identification and manifesting of skydivers
- Solution to transmit load-viewer graphic signal over a computer network, e.g. load-viewer shall be located more than 20 meters away from the manifest

c) Medium
Target consumer: drop zones who want a separate load-viewer on a big screen and also allow skydivers to manifest themselves using RFID chip cards, e.g. those who seek features no competing product can offer or just want to stand out from other drop zones.
What can it do:
- Everything the decent solution (b) can do plus:
- Use any mode / interface on two screens at the same time, e.g. you can show the load-viewer in combination with the self-manifesting interface on one screen (switching automatically if needed) while your staff is working on another screen
Mandatory Hardware:
- Two PCs, no older than 2 years, 2,5 GHz, 4 GB RAM, running Windows 7 or higher
- RFID-Chipcard-Reader for self-manifesting
Optional Hardware:
- Printer to print Waivers, Jump certificates, balance sheets, jump lists etc.
- Touch-screen on the Kiosk-POS-PC; otherwise a mouse is needed so skydivers can choose an option

d) Huge
Target consumer: big drop zones who want more than one staff workstation in the manifest, maybe also one for the accountant plus separate load-viewer on a big screen. Also skydivers shall be able to manifest themselves. This will really separate you from the average drop zone and also will save a lot of time for your staff.
What can it do:
- Everything the medium solution (c) can do plus:
- Use any mode / interface on six screens at the same time, e.g. you can show the load-viewer, offer self-manifesting and have four PCs for your staff to work
Mandatory Hardware:
- One Server, no older than 2 years, 2,5 GHz, 16 GB RAM, running Windows Server 2008 or higher
- Five PCs, no older than 2 years, 2,5 GHz, 4 GB RAM, running Windows 7 or higher
- Six monitors
- RFID-Chipcard-Reader for self-manifesting
Optional Hardware:
- Printer to print Waivers, Jump certificates, balance sheets, jump lists etc.
- Touch-screen on the self-manifesting workstations; otherwise a mouse is needed so skydivers can choose an option
